hi.
me and a sited friend were using the internet on his phone.
it suddenly occured to me, "whats his ip address?" i got him to go on to whatismyip.com, i can't remember what it gave him, but it was a address.
so, i'm thinking:
you'v all heard of the thing wair if you ping a computer with a lower down os than yours lodes of times it will crash it?
surely then, you could do this with a mobile phone to?
think, a small mobile phone, with only xxx mb of memory, compared to a laptop on dsl? ping xxx -t? i'm going to try this, i wood have done then, but i didn't have internet acsess.
b3n.

No, thhe ip is a proxy that relays the network data over the phone link. The phone doesn't get its own ip because afaik it's tiny mind is too small to deal with dhcp and other fun ip related things.

It is possible, but stop and think of people who depend on the cells over a land phone, and what predicument would that put them in? *smile* And a track phone is basically the same as a cell phone, but you always pay for minutes before time; far as I know they don't have any contract plans...And of course...Anyone can get one at a lower cost then most other companies prepaid plans.
